Our Story

Designed and handmade in Elda, Spain

Ramón Tenza has spent his whole life designing shoes. After years creating collections for others, he founded his own label — and for more than two decades his designs have been sought out by customers who find them by name, not by advertising.

His work has always balanced two things: the classic and the playful. Timeless shapes, made unexpected through bold fabrics, rich color and a sense of wit.

From the shoemaking capital of Spain

Every pair is made in our workshop in Elda, Alicante — a town that has been making shoes for well over a century and is known as one of Spain's great footwear capitals. Here, shoemaking is a craft passed down through generations, and our artisans cut, stitch and finish each pair by hand.

Exceptional fabrics from around the world

Our smoking slippers start with the fabric. We work only with the finest materials, sourced from the United States, England, Spain, Italy, France and Belgium: kilims, silk and cotton velvets, linens and ikats, chosen for their remarkable designs and colors. The result is a slipper with real distinction — a Ramón Tenza design is recognizable at first glance.

Because many of these fabrics come in limited quantities, some designs are made in small runs — and when a fabric runs out, that design may not return.

Each pair is finished with a butterscotch leather piped collar, a soft leather lining and a natural suede sole. Comfortable enough to wear all day, special enough for the evening.
